It has been said that it is impossible to be certain of anything except death and taxes; I disagree. I would say it is impossible to be certain of anything except change: death is but a change in a long process, and taxes change all the time. Change is ubiquitous, the universe is constructed of processes which create nothing but flux, so why are we so keen to fight against it?
