Q. How would you describe yourself in a single tweet?
A. I’m someone that tries hard to improve the knowledge work. Everyone knowledge worker should feel satisfied with his own work and results. Count on me to make it possible.
Q. In your opinion, what is the most exciting thing happening in your industry right now?
A. The era of lies is ending. People are starting to not talk more about plans everyone pretends are beautiful but knows they will certainly fail. They are now talking about seeing what is already there and how the systems works, to improve them. We are facing reality and managing knowledge systems, considering their complexity, no matter how hard it is. And it is magical to see this happening and to be part of this paradigm shift.
Q. Why should people come to Lean Agile London 2020?
A. The contact with communities and conferences changed my life. It is like “getting out of the cave”. Reading a book or a blog post is good, but is it doesn’t compare to being present, face to face and hanging out with great thinkers and practitioners from all around the globe at the same place at the same time.
Q. What is your favourite thing about London?
A. The mini Flight Levels Conference that will happen during the event. Could I say that? Is that public? Is it secret? Sorry, I already said. It will be awesome! 🙂
Q. Why should people come to your talk at Lean Agile London 2020?
A. I never liked the dogmatic way of working. Rephrasing the beautiful document “The way of testivus”, dogma says “Do this. Do only this. Do it only this way. And do it because I tell you.” Dogma is inflexible. Knowledge work needs flexibility. Dogma kills creativity. Knowledge work needs creativity”. Those who also don’t like dogmatic approaches and want to know how Flight Levels (with real life practical examples) can help you to be more flexible when pursuing improvement changes should come to my talk. Besides that I’m taking a 12 hours flight from Brazil to make that talk… so be gentle and be there, please. Hehehe.
Q. What are you most looking forward to at Lean Agile London 2020?
A. To meet in person, listen and talk to people from all around the world about how knowledge work is incredibly changing and its future. And of course to drink a good cup of tea. See you there!
